Donate: Pandemic Assistance for Students
We're all being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, and many of us want to help those who are hurting. Now here's a way you can reach out to students and families in Morgan County.
Pepsi Cola Decatur, LLC and other businesses are partnering with us to establish a fund to provide educational assistance. These donations will go to help pay for immediate needs like WiFi at home, repairs to learning devices, and other instructional concerns.
We're asking business owners, organizations, and individuals to use this web site to pledge monetary donations to this fund. Pepsi of Decatur is kicking off the donations, but any business contributing $1000 or more will be recognized on the site. We're hoping to reach at least $25,000, which will go a long way toward helping our children learn.
Pepsi of Decatur donated $12,000. Representatives Ronnie Dukes and Sandra Stephenson presented the check to Superintendent Bill Hopkins on behalf of owner Rodger Shabel.
Alabama Credit Union donated $1,000. Cindy Griffith and Tammy Slappey presented Superintendent Bill Hopkins with the check.
The Huntsville branch of Industrial Workers of the World donated $1,000. Jacob Morrison and Samuel Dalton presented Superintendent Bill Hopkins with the check.
Please mail checks and pledges to: Morgan County Schools, Attention: Pandemic Assistance, 235 Highway 67 South, Decatur, AL 35603.
It's a win-win for all of us, and an easy way to help invest in education efforts in our community.
