Morgan County Schools Superintendent Bill Hopkins and the system's 5 high school principals are pleased to announce the dates and times for the 2020 high school graduations. We will be holding ceremonies simultaneously for each of the system's high schools on Monday, May 18. All those ceremonies will begin at 7:00pm at each school's stadium. Gates will open at 5:00pm.
Each high school will distribute a limited number of tickets for graduates' family and guests. This is necessary to ensure the total occupancy of each stadium does not exceed 50%, which is mandated by the governor's current order.
The schools will provide an area for families and guests of each student to sit together in one space. Those sections will be marked and separated by at least 6 feet from other groups. Guests are encouraged to wear masks and follow health recommendations for social distancing.
A backup date in the event of inclement weather will be the following day, on Tuesday, May 19. If weather moves in on Monday, a decision will be made by 3:00pm about moving ceremonies to the Tuesday date.
For more specific details, consult the individual high schools' website and social media sites.
