Mr. Robert Elliott Jr. is a life-long resident of Morgan County. He is a product of Morgan County Schools and has given back 25 years of teaching and volunteer service to the county he loves. He is well known throughout Morgan County as a generous and outgoing educator.
Mr. Elliott attended elementary and middle school at Cotaco and graduated from Albert P. Brewer High School in 1992. He received his Bachelor’s in Education from Athens State College, and a Master’s in Education from the University of Alabama. After several years in the classroom, he answered an inner call to be an educational leader, and obtained a Master in Educational Administration from Jacksonville State University. In a desire to receive more formal education in school administration, he earned an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Administration from the University of Alabama.
Before becoming Superintendent of Morgan County Schools, Mr. Elliott served as the Principal of Albert P. Brewer High School. Mr. Elliott has also served as an administrator for Morgan County Schools as the Principal at Union Hill School, and as an assistant principal at both Priceville High School and Albert P. Brewer High School. Mr. Elliott served as a teacher in the Morgan County Schools system before beginning his career in school administration.
Mr. Elliott is very active in the communities of Morgan County serving on the Rural Morgan County Industrial Development Board as a Board Member/Treasurer since 2015. He has been a member of the Cotaco Volunteer Fire Department since 1989 serving in various roles from firefighter to the Fire Chief. Mr. Elliott also served the Morgan County 911 Board as a Board Member/Treasurer from August 2015-July 2017, and as the treasurer of the Morgan County Association of Volunteer Fire Departments since 2005.
Mr. Elliott is honored to serve and represent all the schools and communities of Morgan County as Superintendent of Morgan County Schools.
