Our Department

  • Around 4,000 Morgan County Schools students ride a bus to and/or from school each day.  In addition to daily routes, our buses are used to transport student teams and field trips--a total of over 1600 non-route trips per year.  In summer, we provide student transportation for summer school, camps and other programs. We coordinate with area agencies such as Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce, Boys & Girls Club, and 4-H to provide transportation for additional educational opportunities, including the EQUIP and EDGE programs.  Our drivers are committed to getting students safely to their destinations and back each day.

Morgan County Schools Transportation Department completes thorough inspections of all 123 school buses every month.  The Alabama State Department of Education has recognized our department as exemplary, for having achieved a standard of zero major deficiencies in annual state-conducted school bus inspections for the 12th year in a row.  Two Alabama Bus Drivers of the Year and one National Bus Driver of the Year have hailed from Morgan County Schools in recent years.
