Mrs. Stacy Beavers

Welcome to third grade! My name is Stacy Beavers and I'm very excited to have the opportunity to teach your child this year. Falkville has been my home since the middle of first grade. I graduated from Falkville High School and went on to the University of North Alabama to get my teaching degree. I later went to the University of Alabama in Birmingham to get my masters degree in elementary education. Now I am spending my 25th year at Falkville Elementary School. I can't imagine being anywhere other than Falkville and getting to teach our future community leaders.

I enjoy spending time with my wonderful family. Tim and I have been married for the past 20 years and have two amazing children, Julie and Cedric, both of which are students at Falkville High School. I stay rather busy between football, basketball, indoor track, and outdoor track. I also enjoy spending time with a little stray kitten, the Beast, that has brought a lot of entainment to our family.

I look forward to another wonderful year at FES.

I was born and raised in Southern California and moved to Madison, Alabama in 2011 after receiving an Associates degree from Crafton Hills College in Southern California. I knew from a young age that I wanted to move to Alabama which is where my grandfather grew up and as a young child I spent a lot of time in Alabama. I have a bachelor’s degree in special education from Athens State University. When I am not at school, I love spending time with my family. I grew up in Cullman and graduated from Cullman High School. I attended Wallace State in Hanceville and graduated from Athens State with a degree in Elementary Education. After college, I got married and moved to Auburn.  I taught third grade in Lee County while my husband completed his graduate degree.  We moved to Seneca, South Carolina where I taught first grade and kindergarten.  I stopped full time teaching after my son was born, and we moved back to Cullman.  I was very involved in my children’s education and would substitute teach, coach soccer, and participate in booster club activities. Most recently, before coming to Falkville, I taught kindergarten at Good Hope Primary.  I chose a career in education because I love being around children and watching them learn and grow.

I have been married for 25 years and have two children. My son is a junior at Auburn University, and my daughter is a senior at Cullman High.  I enjoy spending time with family and friends, taking care of my dogs and cats, and helping my husband take care of cattle on the farm.

Ms. Cristal Owens

Hi, I am Ms. Cristal Owens, and I am the TAG teacher, or Gifted Specialist of the Talented and Gifted program for K-12. I am your GT teacher until you graduate. This is my 18th year at FES, but up until a few years ago I always had two schools. I have also taught at Sparkman, West Morgan, Ryan, and Eva. Before joining the MCS team, I taught gifted reading in Huntsville. I am also the Chess team sponsor and the middle school Scholars' Bowl sponsor. We have our 4 tournaments at Cotaco every year involving all 9 MCS middle schools, so I recognize faces of students from all over Morgan County.  I have also taught Camp Invention at Priceville Jr High, where we have students from Decatur, Hartselle, Morgan County, Madison, and Cullman.

I am not from this area. I came from a small town about 65 miles SW from here named Ashville. It is a little bigger than Falkville, but still has only one red light.  There is also a really big, old courthouse.  I graduated from Ashville High and attended Gadsden State Community College. Next I graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Finance. A few years later I graduated from UAH with a master's in History. A few years after that I graduated from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa with a degree in Gifted Education. So what's the most important part of all that - of course it's War Eagle!!

I grew up in the country on a farm with lots of animals, and still go back often to visit my family. Unfortunately, I don't get to live on a farm now with my son, Mitchell, who is in 8th grade, but we still get to live in the country. I like to read, watch movies, cook interesting new foods, eat at cool restaurants, and travel with Mitchell. My favorite part about teaching at Falkville is that we don't have to go looking for nature or teach the students about all the creepy crawlies - all that comes to us to enjoy daily. I also enjoy teaching gifted and getting to know students from so many different schools. It's fun to introduce my Falkville kids to students from all around the county for them to make new friends.
