Morgan County Schools Road Map to Re-open Schools 2020-21
-
Dear Morgan County School Parents,
I hope this message finds you and your family well.
Our spring and summer months have been very eventful, like no other in our lifetime. I think we will all easily recall the year 2020, and share stories with children and grandchildren for years to come. We will remember checking daily for the rate of infection in our county, the evening news devoted to the virus, remembering those who were infected, and rejoicing with those who were tested and the results were negative. The names of national, state, and local health officials and governmental leaders will stay fresh in our memories for years to come.
We are excited that school will be starting next month, although our excitement is tempered with caution. We are concerned for the health and well-being of our students, staff, and anyone connected with our school system.
I hope you have had the opportunity to view our “back to school” plan. It is located on our webpage and can be seen through the following link https://www.morgank12.org/plan. You will find a short, quick guide of the plan, and for those seeking additional information, the complete 30 plus page plan is also available.
We know that each household is different, and to that end we are offering three back to school choices for you.
Many of you want your child to attend traditional school. We are offering traditional school.
Many of you want your child to learn at home.
We are offering two quality at home learning options. We are providing remote/off campus learning with Morgan County teachers to assist your child, and a virtual learning option, where students learn with instruction provided by teachers outside of Morgan County.
We want this school year to meet your needs, and respect that each family has to make a decision based on their individual circumstances.
In closing, these changing times. We know that we need to stay flexible and adapt as circumstances change.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer!
Respectfully,
Dee O. Fowler, Ed.D.
Interim Superintendent
