BS Degree in Mathematics with minors in Chemistry and Education from Judson College Renewed teaching certificate at Athens State

Mrs. Pam Wilson

I graduated from Thomasville High School in Thomasville, AL.  Thomasville is a small town in southwest Alabama about 100 miles north of Mobile.  After high school, I attended Judson College in Marion, AL, where  I graduated with a BS degree in Mathematics with minors in chemistry and education.  I married my husband 3 weeks after my college graduation and we settled in Thomasville, where I got a job teaching 7th and 8th-grade math and high school chemistry at Marengo High School.  We then moved to Athens, Georgia, where I taught preschool for a couple of years.  Our first child, David, was born while we were in Athens, and we made the decision that I would be a full-time Mom.

We moved to the north Alabama area in 1991 and our daughter, Bethany, was born in 1993.  Our youngest son, Jake, was born in 1994 and our family was complete. After being a full-time Mom and substitute teacher for several years, I renewed my teaching certification at Athens State.  I worked at Austin High School in Decatur for a semester as a long-term sub for a teacher who was serving active duty in the military.   In 2004, we moved to Priceville, and in the fall of 2005, I started my career with the Morgan County school system at Brewer High School.  My children attended Priceville schools and as much as I loved my job at Brewer, I felt torn trying to support both schools.  In the fall of 2009, a position became available at Priceville High School and I gladly transferred here.

I am an active member of Central Park Baptist Church in Decatur where I sing in the adult choir and have directed vacation Bible school for 20 plus years.  Outside of school, I enjoy camping in our travel trailer, spending time with my family and playing various kinds of games.  We have camped from Lake Erie to Gulf Shores, from Mississippi to the outer banks of North Carolina, and many points in between.  I am always looking for someone to join me in a good card or board game.  Some of my favorite games are Phase Ten, Skip-bo, Swap and a new game we have discovered called Splendor.  In March of 2019, my first grandchild was born.  He has enriched my life greatly and I enjoy spending time with him.  My daughter is expecting my second grandchild in late 2019 or early 2020.  My family and I are excitedly awaiting his arrival.

Feel free to email me with any questions or comments.  I use Google Classroom to post all assignments and various announcements throughout the school year.

I really enjoy teaching and can't imagine doing anything else.
