DMS includes students in grades 5 - 8 located in the rural community of Danville, Al. The school consists of approximately 400 students and 30 staff members, including support personnel, teachers, and an administrator. Danville does not have a mayor, police force, or city council. The school is however strongly supported by local churches, businesses, and our partner in education, NUCOR.
DMS has high expectations for everyone involved in the school. Following the Morgan County vision of "Students Today and Leaders Tomorrow", numerous leadership opportunities are available to the students and teachers. Academics are a top priority and teachers use data assessments, formative assessments, surveys, Global Scholar, observations, and other assessment tools to drive the instruction provided in the classroom.
