Mr. Brickell

Mr. Brickell graduated from Banks High School and attended University of Montevallo where he graduated on the deans list with a BFA. After college he was a full time professional artist for 17 years. In 1992 he became involved in the Artist in Residency program through the Alabama State Council on the Arts. In 1994 he was selected for a residency at Eva School. The residency was a success and with the support of the community and the Town Council the residency turned into a full time teaching position. In 2015 he came to Falkville High School and now splits his time between Falkville and Eva.
 
Birmingham is my hometown, I teach art to 6th - 8th at Eva and 9th - 12th at Falkville, I began mentoring the Morgan County high school robotics team in 2012, I have a wife (Sarah) and 2 sons (Mica and Chris), favorite hobby is kayaking, most memorable experience ; When a student won first place in a state competition, my favorite thing about FHS is the talented students who do their best to be successful.

Mr. Childers hometown is Decatur, Alabama. He is a 1994 graduate of Decatur High School. After high school, he attended Athens State University and the University of Montevallo. 

This year he is teaching 7th grade Civics/Geography, 8th grade World History, and 9th grade Biology.

He has been married to his wife, Janet, for eleven years. They have 2 children.

Mr. Childers enjoys fishing, hunting, camping, canoeing, and hiking. 

One of his favorite things about teaching at FHS is the small, homelike feeling of the school and community.

Miss Meaghan Gray

I am from Hartselle, Alabama and went to Hartselle High School. I attended college at UNA and Alabama A&M where I earned my degree in Collaborative Special Education. I teach 8th and 9th grade reading intervention. I am the head softball coach and head volleyball coach. I also help with Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

I am very close with my family! My mother, father, and grandparents all live close to me in Hartselle. My sister, Brandi, is a special education teacher in Oxford, Alabama. My hobbies are spending time with my friends and family. I also enjoy reading. 

I love how close the FHS community is, and I enjoy getting the opportunity to teach here!

Mrs. Shelly Hendrick

Mrs. Hendrick is a graduate of Falkville High School. After graduation, she attended Wallace State then went on to the University of Alabama. She has taught at Hueytown HS, and currently teaches at Danville HS and Falkville HS. She teaches Spanish 1 and 2 at Falkville. She earned her Master's degree from Samford University. 

She coaches cross country at Danville HS. 

Her husband's name is Paul. They have 3 dogs - Terry, Jackson, and Lucy. Mrs. Hendrick enjoys traveling, shopping, playing golf, hiking, painting, and learning.

Miss Ashley Holmes

Miss Holmes was raised in Falkville and graduated from FHS in 2010. She attended Auburn University where earned herBachelor's in Agriscience Education in 2014. At Auburn, she also earned her Master's in Agriscience Education in 2015, her Educational Specialist degree in Agriscience Education in 2016, and her Administrative Certificate in Educational Leadership in 2017.

Miss Holmes teaches 7th grade Introduction to Agriscience, 8th grade Agriscience Explorations, 9th grade Fundamentals of Agriscience, 10th grade Intermediate Agriscience, 11th grade Advanced Agriscience, and 12th grade Applied Agricultural Mechanics. 

She is the sponsor of FFA. She was selected as the Morgan County Secondary Teacher of the Year 2017-2018. 

Miss Holmes loves FHS's family atmosphere among the students, faculty, and administration. She also loves and is extremely proud of the deep-rooted traditions of the FFA program.

Coach Lacy is a graduate of Falkville High School. After graduating FHS, he earned a Bachelor's degree from Athens State University and then a Master's degree from the University of West Alabama. He teaches 9th grade Career Prep and 8th grade Technology Education. 

He is the varsity girls basketball head coach and the head coach of the varsity baseball team.

Mrs. Leonardi is a graduate of Falkville High School. She attended the University of North Alabama and transferred to Athens State University. 

She teaches 7th and 8th grade English and coaches the varsity cheer team. 

She has taught at Cold Springs HS (9-12 ELA, Leo Club), Eva School (7-8 ELA, Yearbook, Jr. High Cheer), and Lawrence County HS (8-10 ELA, Choir). 

Her husband's name is John. She has a daughter, Madeline, who attends FHS. 

Some of her favorite things to do are read, crossword puzzles, sudoku, garden, and spend time with family. 

Mrs. Leonardi's favorite thing about FHS is being able to teach where she grew up and graduated.

Mrs. Lopez is from Henagar, Alabama. She is a graduate of Sylvania High School. After high school, she attended Northeast Community College and then Athens State University to earn a degree in Secondary Education Social Science. She teaches 7th grade Civics/Geography, 9th grade World History, and Honors 12th grade Government/Economics.

Mrs.Lopez has been married to her husband, Kenny, for 18 years. They have 3 children - Abby, 14;Amelia,11; and Anna, 5. Her favorite hobbies include reading and spending time with family.

Miss Samantha Riddle

Miss Riddle is from Cullman County. She is a graduate of Vinemont High School. After high school, Miss Riddle earned her Associate of Science degree from Wallace State, her Bacholor of Science in Education degree from Athens State University, and her Masters of Curriculum Instruction degree from the University of Alabama. She teaches Honors 8th grade Algebra I, Algebra IB, Honors 9th and 10th grade Geometry, and Dual Enrollment Pre-Calculus.

She is the assistant varsity and junior varsity softball coach. She also is an assistant with the volleyball teams. Miss Riddle is the Fellowship of Christian Athletes sponsor. 

Miss Riddle enjoys spending time with her mom, dad, her awesome younger brother, and her best friend - Kiara (her Golden Retriever). She likes running, reading, and hanging out with friends. 

Her most memorable experiences in education are when past students come to visit and thank her for pushing them and not letting them give up. 

Miss Riddle's favorite thing about FHS is her group of students! She especially enjoys the softball and volleyball teams.

Mr. Josh Scott

Coach Scott is a 2002 graduate of Falkville High School. He graduated from the University of West Alabama where he earned both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Collaborative Special Education. 

He currently teaches 10th - 12th grade inclusion and health. He is the head varsity boys basketball coach and an assistant football coach.

He is married to his wife, Jessica, of nine years. She is the Library Media Specialist at FES. They have 3 children - twin angels, Madden and Maddox, and two year old Tatum Lee. 

Coach Scott loves spending tiem with his family, traveling, and has found a new interest in reading.

Mrs. Summerford was born and raised in Falkville, Alabama. She attended Falkville Elementary and graduated in 1982 from Falkville High School. She attended college at Calhoun Community College and went on to Athens State College to complete her degree in Elementary Education in 1986. She earned her Master's Degree from the University of North Alabama in 1993 in Elementary Education. 

She has been married for 35 years to her husband, Tom. They have two sons- Chad and Trey. Chad and his wife, Dee, have two sons- Jud and Grant. Trey and his wife, Stephanie, have 3 children - Hannah, Tenley, and Wesley. 

Mrs. Summerford loves football. She is a big fan of Blue Devil football and Alabama Crimson Tide football. She enjoys reading, gardening, and working on her farm. She enjoys weekends at her and Tom's lakehouse with family. 

Some of her most memorable experiences at Falkville have been the trips she has taken with students to Washington DC, New York, and Atlanta. 

Mrs. Summerford's favorite thing about teaching at FHS is that this has been her home since she started school in 1st grade.
