Danville Middle School

Every Child a Graduate. Every Graduate Prepared to Lead.

  • Danville Middle School will participate in state testing on Tuesday, April 13 and Thursday, April 15.  It is important for state accountability purposes that all students participate in testing, and are at school on time.  School starts at 7:50.  All students, including remote students, need to come to school on Tuesday and Thursday. Due to social distancing procedures, we ask that remote students not count on riding the bus during testing.  If this is a problem, please contact Mr. Kelsoe.

Students will only need to bring their fully-charged chromebook, their charger, and a mask on Tuesday and Thursday.

Grades 5-8 will take the reading portion of the ACAP test on Tuesday and most will complete it by around 11:30.  On Thursday, grades 5-8 will take the math portion and should complete it by around 11:00.  Grades 6 and 8 will take the science portion after lunch on Thursday and will not complete until around 2:00.  Parents can check out their students when they finish their test for the day, or they can stay at school for the full day.  Only those on a student's check-out list can check-out students.

In most cases, students will likely test with their advisory teacher.  However, we will have school personnel readily available on Tuesday morning and Thursday morning to help direct students on where to go.  This reiterates the importance of students being on time.

Our goal is to have all students tested by the end of the week (Friday, April 15), however, due to deadlines and logistical issues, we must have tested completed before the end of this month.  If you or your student have concerns or issues about testing, please reach out to Mr. Kelsoe by email or by phone to share your concerns with him.

While we all understand that state testing shows only a snapshot of a student's ability, we want our students to put their best foot forward and give their best effort.  Please ensure your child gets plenty of rest before the test and is able to eat a healthy breakfast the day of the test.  Thank you for your cooperation and for sending us your best!
