    Morgan County Schools Superintendent Mr. Bill W. Hopkins, Jr. announced today Cotaco Junior High School has been named a 2018 Blue Ribbon Lighthouse School of Excellence by the Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence, Incorporation. 


    The school will be honored and receive the official award in a ceremony during the banquet at the Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence National Conference in Orlando November 30, 2018. The school was notified of this accomplishment today by Dr. Judy Fields, Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence CEO. “We are greatly honored to recognize such a deserving school working so diligently to fulfill the many learning needs of students.”


    “The Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence Program is a comprehensive school self-assessment experience. This program supports improved student performance and quality school reform. Schools are identified and selected for this award based on achievement of excellent performance in nine major categories. Blue Ribbon Lighthouse Schools serve as a beacon of exemplary achievements and contributions to ensure successful educational experiences for all children by shining a positive light on America’s best schools and programs that work,” Dr. Judy Fields, Blue Ribbon Schools CEO. 


    Congratulations to Principal Kim Crow, Assistant Principal Brandon Tew, and the Cotaco Junior High School Faculty and Staff for such an an accomplishment!
