Please take note of this very important announcement regarding a revision to our current school year calendar: April 5, 2019 will be an Early Release Day for students. Students will be dismissed at noon on April 5, 2019 in order to provide them with the opportunity to attend the Morgan County Schools Bicentennial Fine Arts Festival. The festival will be held at Celebration Arena, located at 67 Horse Center Road, Decatur AL 35603. We hope that you choose to use this Early Release Day to celebrate Alabama's 200th birthday at the festival.
Reach and Teach(Group that brought in The Velcro Pygmies for our Homecoming Concert) is planning a large Summer Concert, planned and promoted by Morgan County/Decatur City students and our RNT rockstars. This is basically the same concept as the school program, just at the next level. For example, we are in talks with Big and Rich right now as the artist and we are hoping to hold the event at Point Mallard in conjunction with the water park. The event will take place in late June or early August. We will begin putting together a group of students for this project in early April. These students will take part in every aspect of the event including, marketing, budgeting, operations, logistics, etc.
The Child Nutrition Program and the DMS/DHS School Cafeteria would like to remind you that your students are not to charge meals after spring break. Please be sure to attend to your child's lunch balance. You can put money on their account by sending it to their cafeteria or using the My School Bucks website. If you have any questions regarding their meal account, feel free to contact our cafeteria manager.
