The goal of the Morgan County School System Technology Department is to promote a technology friendly environment where a broad range of technological resources and educational opportunities are available at all levels of education and administration. Teachers use technology to enhance instruction and to automate administrative tasks. Students are provided with access to computer labs, automated media centers, and computers in their classrooms. Every classroom in the school system is networked providing Internet access, online resources, and cable TV access. Faculty and students have access to peripheral devices including but not limited to digital cameras, document cameras, projectors, classroom performance systems, and interactive white boards. All five high schools in the Morgan County School System are equipped with Interactive Video Conferencing (IVC) equipment made available through ACCESS Grants. Distance Learning is accomplished through IVC class instruction as well as web based instruction.
Morgan County Schools has partnered with School Messenger, a California-based company, that provides notification services for emergency broadcast, parent outreach and student attendance communications for K-12 education. The system is programmed to send out automated phone calls and e-mails to parents for a variety of reasons that impact the safety and academic performance of all Morgan County students. School Messenger will be used to compliment our emergency preparedness procedures and to inform parents of student absences and upcoming school events such as statewide testing and parent meetings through rapid communication. This system will not replace current modes of school communication. Acquisition of the School Messenger system is intended to reinforce our commitment to remain personally connected to parents and provide a standardized notification platform for all schools. It is vital that your contact information, including your primary phone number (home phone number), alternate phone number (cellular number or work number), and e-mail address is current with your local school to allow maximum benefit of this communication tool. This information is confidential and access is password protected to guard your privacy. Please complete your child's information as it applies to the points of contact. Return to school upon completion as soon as possible; your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
